Have you ever tried using google alerts?  This simple gambit gives you updates when your submitted keywords gets noticed in google.

For example, I fill in the form

• Search Term: “Thomas Wooldridge”
• Type: Comprehensive (Meaning have it search for everything like videos, news, etc)
• How Often: As it Happens
• Email Length: Default
• Deliver Too: Your email address.

So basically anytime my name is written on the internet, google will shoot me an email.

Ok so now your guessing so what?  How the heck can i make money out of this?

It’s really simple that you have to think outside of the box here.

So here is the steps on how to effectively exploit this google loophole to gain large amounts of traffic to your websites.

Step 1: Research your niche and decide what the keywords you can easily dominate with

Step 2: Get about 5 Primary keywords that you can dominate with.  Get 10 Secondary LSI Keywords

Step 3: Create a Blog Post promoting your affiliate product. Insure you put up all the gold keywords and secondary LSI keywords.

Step 4: Goto Google Alerts and create Alerts for your 5 primary Keywords.  Make Sure you choose Blogsearch so Google can only search in Blogs

Step 5: Everytime you get an email alert, immediately post a comment on their blog.

Step 6: Create another blog post. Copy a quote with the chosen keyword in it and write your own unique comment and paste the quote from that aritcle.  Make sure you link that article in the quotes to create a trackback

Step 7. Social Bookmark both blog posts.

Wash Rinse, Repeat.

So how does this work? Basically you want to use alerts because that is what google has just indexed for that particular keyword.  Now what you want to do is take advantage of the just submitted keyword.  So you are just riding the coat tails of the web page.  You want to attempt to leech some of that traffic and hopes that google will spider to your backlink to your blog post.  It’s a surefire way of creating your own relevant link wheel.

Do this everyday and you can easily gain 500 to 1000 hits a day depending on how popular your keyword is.  Eventually you’ll become the authority for the particular niche.

Long gone are the days of writing unrelated content, and then typing “Britney Spears” 100 times at the end of the article. Today’s search engine spiders can spot the “Black Hat” SEO techniques a mile away, and your site can be banned for life.

Here are a few tips for SEO optimization:

Be focussed in your meta keywords – 1 to 3 SEO optimized keywords is enough

Put your keyword at the beginning of you page title tag.

Make sure you title tag is the first tag in the head section

Make sure your keyword appears in the alt tag for images and in link text, but no more than 3 times

Put your keyword in bold

Put your keyword in the H1 section of your page, and H2 if you can

Have a keyword weigh in your article between 3-6% (higher is “keyword spamming”)

SEO for domain names

Going back to the Nike.com example from my “SEO for Google” article. Since the keyword weight is 0%, how does nike.com get to billing when you search for them? Easy, Google gives a rank weight to domain names.

Make sure your primary domain name reflects the main purpose of your site (domain SEO). This site, for example, is all about my desire to “retire with millions”. The site is subdivided in to many SEO optimized sub-domains each with a URL that denotes the sections. For example, all my SEO articles are in a sub-directory called ../seo.

Many articles have been written about Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for Google. Google is the largest search engine (for now) and getting your SEO right for the Googlebot can make your site top ten site getting millions of hits a day. On the other hand, poor SEO and your site may never be ranked and your campaigns for Adsence will never net you any real money. Even worse, bad SEO might mean that your cutting edge product is un-finable by your customers.

Google page rank is determined by a number of factors:

SEO keywords

SEO content

SEO domain name

Originality of content

Number of links from external sites

SEO keywords and SEO content will be dealt with in another article, lets focus on the other 2 for now.

Original Content

Having original content on your site is a no-brainer. It is the “why” that escapes many SEO web content developers. We have all seen the ads promising “150000 Adsense and SEO optimized pages”. If it were this easy, all of us would be multi-millionaires by now. The reality is, Googlebot applies a penalty for non-original content, no mater how SEO you might think the page is. Think about it – why does “Nike.com” come up number 1 when you type Nike into Google? You or I could probably write a better SEO page about Nike than Nike.com. In fact, Nike.com keyword density for “Nike” is 0%!!!

Links from External Sites

Google take into account the number of links you have from external sites. Each link is like a “vote” for your site. Before you go and sign up for a link exchange program, consider this, some links do not count, in fact, being a “link spammer” can kill your ranking, no matter how good your SEO.

There are ways to generate quality back links:

Create a blog on blogspot.com (a Google Site) and write about your web page – include properly formatted links

Join blogs on respected sites and comment on articles, putting your URL in your signature

Write “press releases” when you update your site and post them on the free press release sites around the web

Take out classified ads in respected on-line newspapers

Make small donations to charity sites that keep a “Thank You” page and include your web site with your name

These are just some tips to compliment your SEO work to get a good Google ranking.

SEO stands for search engine optimization. A search engine is a tool used by Internet users to find website that are relevant to their needs. While there are literally hundreds of search engines available on the Internet today, the three biggest ones are Google, Yahoo and MSN. Search engines work by dispatching spiders to crawl through the World Wide Web and gather information. When a person is looking for specific information, and your website has that information, then the spiders will find it and place it in their search results.

The tricky part is understanding what search engines are looking for and being able to put it in the right place on your website. That’s where the optimization part comes in. Search engines are looking for specific keywords amongst all the content on your website and in your html coding. Search engines also take into consideration the number of incoming links you have to your website.

A link farm is a webpage that is nothing more than a page of links to other sites. Stay away from link farms. When you generate a link from another site, it has to be relevant and come from a real website.

5. What is duplicate content?

When you have more than one web page on your website that contains essentially the same content then you have what’s called duplicate content. Search engines will penalize you for this. You can avoid this easily enough by not publishing the same content in a ton of different locations. If you need help rewriting your content, there are tools online that can help you make it 30%, 40%, even 60% different.

6. How do I find the right keywords?

A good place to start would be to make a list of words that you think best describe your products. Customers will use these to find your website. You can also research the supply and demand for those keywords to see how popular they are. Supply means how many other websites are using those same keywords, and demand is how many customers are looking for those keywords. The goal is to find keywords with high demand and relatively low supply. There are many effective and useful keyword tools to help you find this information, and also to generate keyword ideas.

7. How do I optimize my web pages?

Put your keywords in the headings, subheadings, domain name, and title of your website. Search engines will look there first. They also look in the content of your web page and generally focus on the first paragraph. Try to get a domain name with your primary keyword included. When you include your keyword in your URL, it tells the search engine spiders immediately what your site is about.

A title tag is the line of text that appears on search engine results pages that acts as a link to your site. Put your keyword in the title tag, as it is a crucial element that describes to customers what your page is about. Keeping your title tag brief, descriptive and up to date will help increase the relevance of your site by search engine standards, as well as give your potential visitors a good idea of what they can expect from your website.

8. Do I need to submit your site to the search engines?

Nope. Search engine spiders are working 24/7 to collect information from new and old websites alike. Every time you update your website, add content, or change your keywords, the search engines capture the information and record it.
