First, be sure that you have the appropriate skills necessary.
Unless you are a graphic artist, your only form of communication online is through writing. Proper spelling, syntax and sentence structure are basic requirements, even if you’re just selling on eBay.
Once you have the verbal skills, then you’ll need to do some research and determine more specifically what you want to do. The vague term ‘internet marketing’ covers anything and nothing – and is really only used by scam artists trying to make a buck from the unsuspecting.
After you’ve focused your search, you need to go looking for legitimate companies offering jobs in the market. Never reply to an unsolicited email (spam) sent to you. Never go through a pop-up on another site. Check out jobs at places like monster.com.
Once you’ve found a company that’s hiring, I’d still check them out through the Better Business Bureau www.bbb.org
Of course, the easiest way to get your feet wet in online sales is through eBay. Start small, selling low-dollar items.

I keep receiving emails about starting up an online business. Can somebody give me the real low down on this? Is it as easy as it seems? How much money do you need to start it up? Thanks in advance!
