I put a paragraph of just keywords on certain pages, so they produce higher rankings. Should I put them on every page?
If you go to the bottom, you can see them at
“c l i e n t y .com/vendors/dresses”

The keywords I believe you are talking about are links (where it says “Find more dresses…”). I wouldn’t do it. Think of it this way…
Lets say you had 1 link on well ranked page. That link would be considered very important by search engines. If you had 10 links on that page, it would only carry 1/10th of the weight. You have well over 100 links on that page so they probably carry no weight at all. Furthermore, they all link to the page that they are on. I can’t say for sure, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this had a negative impact on your rankings.
If you want to rank well for specific keywords, there needs to be content (plain text) with them in it. The best way would be to write some articles and use your keywords in the body and biggest keywords in the title. The biggest keywords should be within at least
tags if not
. It looks like you have a directory and therefore you must be trading links. Another good way to get specific keywords ranked well fast is to request that your link partners use linking text with your targeted keywords.
What you are asking for is really all about keyword density on a page. Each page should target a keyword or two. Usually you should target about a 2% to 5% density or the keywords should appear that often compared to the rest of the text.
Also, make sure you have the keywords in
tags and also in your url like domain.com/keywords-like-this.html
If you go over board with keywords on a page, it is called keyword stuffing and usually the search engines (especially google) frown upon this practice and may penalize your site.
Good luck.
It isn’t that cut and dry. You have to research what people would type in to find you. Then write optimized pages based on them. See my site for information on how to do it.
I have downloaded some free trial SEO software, just a few days ago, so have not used it yet! But, I’m really learing alot for the free software. If they put this into an ebook, I’m sure they could sell quite a few copies!
*Also, on first link below is a website that offers about ten website and blog awards. They are FREE & even provide a link back to your site! Plus, they show the visitors that your site is a noch above the rest. Keep in mind, to get the award you have to have good info on your site and not just junk w/jumping graphics and tons of AdWords!
