help create a new handbag business for me…All of the templates that I like are done by merchant moms, wahmshoppes, pappashoppe, proshoppe, posh carts, and etc…My problem is that I want to be seen & picked up by the search engines, and some1 told me that u needed a major hosting company to host you if you didn’t want to b seen @ the end of the list..I want to use the web designers from wahmshoppes, but I don’t want that to affect my search standings with google, msn, & yahoo. So after all this, does any1 know if you using a not so popular web host, makes a difference, or is it like I thought, your search standings are determined by your meta tags, title descriptions, and other various things?? Please some1 spell this out for me in laymen terms that I will understand, becuz I’m no computer wizard!! I just want to get good rankings to kick my new business off..Please help me…Any suggestions or free info for helping me get started? Thanks, Muah

Hi,
Web Hosting wont affect your search rankings. If you need a good ranking first make sure your website is well optimized. You can try going through Google’s SEO guidelines.
There are lot of stuff that matters. To start with, I would suggest doing a Keyword Research. Find out all the relevant keywords related to your website. Use the Google Keyword Tool, to find which keywords are most popular. Make sure your website has those keywords. Do NOT overstuff your website with these keywords, else Google will blacklist your website.
Also, make sure the Title Tags, Meta Tags, and Anchor Texts have those keywords.
Having other websites link to your website is a plus point. Google gives lot of importance to links pointing to your website. Make sure these links come from good relevant websites related to your website. And ensure the Anchor Text used to link is one of the keywords you want to rank for.
I suggest reading lot of SEO articles.

The website will become popular when your business becomes popular, not the other way around. The sites that are most popular appear first in search engines. For search engines to find you, you have to submit your site to them

Your search engine rankings have nothing to do with the popularity of your webhost, they have to do mostly with your google pagerank. You get a higher pagerank by getting more websites to link you mostly. Metatags allow you to specify which search terms you will show up for when people search, so those are also important. The more specific the meta tags are, the easier it is typically to get a higher ranking.
For hosting I would suggest you try Hostamina.com – they will give you tips for increasing your search engine ranking as they have tons of websites themselves on the side. They are both webmasters and web hosts so they know exactly what you need!
You should avoid hosts that offer “unlimited” space/bandwidth as this is somewhat of a scam. You should also avoid hosts that offer ridiculous amounts of space/bandwidth, such as 10GB space for only $5/month. Hosts like this overload and oversell servers, and are bad news for anyone who wants reliability.
You should also avoid answers here that send you to review sites, as those sites make money off commissions and rank hosts based on how much money they’ll get paid, not on how good they are. You should avoid answers here that look like they are affiliate links as well, for the same reason.
Hostamina.com is exactly what you need. Support is great! They will help you set up your website, and they will provide you with any help you need. Note that I am not using an affiliate link or sending you to a review site.http://www.hostamina.com
