Is There An Advantage Hosting My Web Page In The Usa. Currently Asian Traffic Only?

At the moment http://www.unusedrooms.com is hosted in Australia and we do very well with our rankings in the search engines. Most of our traffic is from this area (Asia/Pacific) and we do well but very little traffic comes from the USA.
Would hosting a site in the USA or UK help me attract customers from those areas.
All of our hits come directly from search engines with no advertising so that will not affect the traffic.
We are a hotel and tour based site in all regions, with no emphasis on any specific area.
Please let me know your thoughts.

Hi. Looking at your website – I’m not surprise why you seem to be getting a lot of traffic from Asia. Here is the reason – the word “Singapore” were use 8X. You also mention MRT China Town.
Search engines use keyword to track which site content what and rank them according to how many time the keyword use in a particular website.
Most search engine would think that your site is related to Aisa not US since non of your frontpage mentioned about US. Even if you host your site in the US – you won’t get traffic from US if you solely rely on search engines to find your sites.
Server location – has nothing to do with traffic to your site – it is better for you to learn about search engine optimization. Create another pages – that have more info about US – only then you can attract US visitors.

If your hosting put it in USA, then your visitor in USA can load your page faster, that should be good for your USA visitor. That’s no doubt.

The place where you host your website does not affect where your traffic is coming from. The only advantage of a US host is that it is much cheaper than UK or Australia host (unless you are hosting the website yourself).
It just happens to be that the rankings for your website in the asia/pacific search engines is much higher than in the USA search engine.
If you really want to attract more US visitors, then you are better off start doing some advertisement (free or paid).
