Unfortunately, that is always the case — unless you are attending one of the leading conventions or seminars with the top tier in the industry as panelists. Even if you buy ebooks and some of these online courses — they are mere rehash of what you will read on the Internet. Many are simply taken from conversations of the pros in forums such as WebmasterWorld http://www.webmasterworld.com
It’s a rip off — so you really need to investigate the seminar as to who will speak, what credentials do they have, what’s the outline of the seminar so you will know if there are any new things that will be discussed in there.
Otherwise, simply use these opportunities for networking. Although $400 is a steep price to pay to network

that is the truth. most of internet marketing products is like that. how can you make good products if the philosophy for online biz success is “money is in the list” and “you have to have a product”. so every time people coming in to make money online they are taught to build a list and create product. so if 100000 new people coming in every year there would be 100000 new products. and the guru sometime create 2 to 3 new product every year. 95% of internet marketer failed to make money. 90% of online biz failed within 5 years. no wonder there are people spending usd12000 yet still can earn a single dime. that is the reality of internet. as long as we follow the philosophy it will get even worse. internet will be spam with low quality products and gurus will become richer. why? because people with no expertise create new products and guru’s products will be bought because they are trusted and have money and proof to show their methods works. that’s what i’ve seen happening on the net. don’t you wonder why gurus has to coach one and one sometime even in-house coaching to get us succeed. are we all so fool or lazy to get to that point. so what is the point of creating report, ebooks and webinar?

If not—Ask for a refund and tell them that you won’t sue them if it is in full. Using copyrighted material is against the law. You might want to keep a list of all the sites they took their material from.
Do more research next time.
You paid a lot of money to learn a lesson, but it’s a valuable one.
