I have a website which has two purposes, a free technical support forum and an online shop. Each time I submit to DMOZ I wait patiently but never get included, I am as accurate and honest as possible in my descriptions and categories, and take time to ensure that grammar and spelling are perfect yet still no listing, Please help as I know this greatly improves search engine rankings.

Can you provide us with your domain name/URL of your opening webpage so we can examine your SEO metatags and relevant text?
A closer examination of your SEO metatags reveals any number of spaxdexed/duplicate entries which hinder your indexing and ranking. Here are your current metatags:

Check list to get in Dmoz
- Is your website old enough to get listed ? Min 3 – 5 years (So that you can enter in to trusted websites who provide services or info for long run)
- Is your website an authority in the industry?
- Is your website really provide good genuine info/services/products?
- How quality is your website in terms of all the areas of e-commerce
- Did you submit in right category?
- Did you submit with appropriate title and description without any hype words?
- Should never use keywords as title and in description.
- Is your website a website or have a proper registered company?
Patience — and great content
I had a site that took about 1 year for them to list it. You just have to try every couple of months to see if they will approve it this time
Make sure you:
- put lots of great content on the site with no “under construction” or broken links
- choose the best and most appropriate category
- try different titles and description
Other than that, there’s nothing you can do except to be patient. DMOZ is human edited, and some categories do not have an editor. Check to see if you can get to become an editor of that category, and then maybe you can squeeze in your website later (not immediately).

Its very difficult. Not because your site isn’t quality, but I think they have staffing problems. I have tried to get my site listed and contact someone but nothing ever happens. I know a lot of people in the same situation, so join the crowd.
yeah it’s just going to take time for them to approve your listing. I have a site and I’ve been waiting about 8 months and still no luck. Re-submit every few months to make sure.http://www.searchengineoptimizationjourn…
