There’s a good guide to increase your traffic here: http://traffic-tips-and-tricks.blogspot.… The tips described there are quite simple but very effective. Only tip #5 isn’t free, but you don’t have to do it.
And if you’re willing to invest some time into it you should also consider reading the book “Guerrilla Marketing” by Jay Conrad Levinson, it tells you a lot of practical and effective ways to market your business for very little or no money at all. I hope this is useful.
The absolute best way to receive FREE traffic to your website is to write articles about your websites theme.
So for instance if you have about surfing you would write an article about surfing. Then submit it to hundreds of article directories and at the bottom of the article you will place a link to your website. When somebody reads the article, they click your link and visit your website. Congrats, you have just received free traffic!
